The Brown County Gazette, June 5, 1973 TEXANS BACK IN PRODUCTION - On May 30, 1971 disaster struck in Bangs when lightning set fire to Texans, Inc., manufacturers of ceramic lamps. Following virtually total destruction, the firm began rebuilding from scratch. In less than two months they had set up shop in some downtown buildings and had some production, aided by the production of their Del Rio plant. With unfilled orders stacking up, they pushed the rebuilding of the new plant and production increased every month as machinery and equipment was replaced. Now they are back, in a new, larger quarters than ever, with more modern machinery and are again producing the fine quality product for which they are noted. Above all they are proud of their many fine employees pictured on these pages. A valuable snapshot of the 1973 employee roster, these photographs are included here with the kind permission of the Brownwood Bulletin. | ||
